چکیده
We present a statistical analysis on the variability of incompressible energy cascade rate in solar wind around Mars, making use an exact relation for fully developed turbulence and more than five years Mars Atmosphere Volatile EvolutioN (MAVEN) observations. Using magnetic field plasma data, we compute magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) scales pristine wind. From our results, conclude that decreases as Martian heliocentric distance increases, each three explored years. Moreover, show presence proton cyclotron waves, associated with extended hydrogen exosphere, do not have significant effect nonlinear at MHD scales.

Small scale energy cascade of the solar wind turbulence
Magnetic fluctuations in the solar wind are distributed according to Kolmogorov’s power law f below the ion cyclotron frequency fci. Above this frequency, the observed steeper power law is usually interpreted in two different ways: a dissipative range of the solar wind turbulence or another turbulent cascade, the nature of which is still an open question. Using the Cluster magnetic data we show...
متن کاملMars ionospheric response to solar wind variability
[1] At planets with induced magnetospheres, the coupling between the ionosphere, the weak draped magnetosphere, and the solar wind is very direct in comparison to Earth. The weak induced magnetosphere itself is created by the prevailing Solar wind conditions and therefore in its shape and strength dynamically depending on it. In early 2010, Mars was located behind Earth in the Solar wind; thus,...
متن کاملAnisotropic third-moment estimates of the energy cascade in solar wind turbulence using multispacecraft data.
The first direct determination of the inertial range energy cascade rate, using an anisotropic form of Yaglom's law for magnetohydrodynamic turbulence, is obtained in the solar wind with multispacecraft measurements. The two-point mixed third-order structure functions of Elsässer fluctuations are integrated over a sphere in magnetic field-aligned coordinates, and the result is consistent with a...
متن کاملProton kinetic effects and turbulent energy cascade rate in the solar wind.
The first observed connection between kinetic instabilities driven by proton temperature anisotropy and estimated energy cascade rates in the turbulent solar wind is reported using measurements from the Wind spacecraft at 1 AU. We find enhanced cascade rates are concentrated along the boundaries of the (β∥, T⊥/T∥) plane, which includes regions theoretically unstable to the mirror and firehose i...
